JnUMCJ dept Alumni Assoc committee formed

Jagannath University Mass Communication and Journalism Alumni Association (JnUMCJAA) on Friday formed a new committee with Prof Nister Jahan Kabir as president, Lecturer Mithun Miya as vice president and Ariful Islam Arefin as general secretary.

A 21- member committee has been formed for next one year in a get together programme of JnuMCJAA held at Mass Communication and Journalism department on the campus.

Other members of the committee are: Afroza Hashi (Channel i), Samrat Anwar (Channel 9), and Shovon Sultan as joint general secretaries; Mahfuzur Rahman (Kaler Kantho) as organising secretary; Lotfur Rahman Shohag (Channel i) as treasurer; Kazi Nafia Rahman (Bdnews24.com), publication and publicity secretary, Saiful Islam, office secretary; Zobaer Ahmed (Jagonews24.com), culture, literary and sports affairs secretary, Hannan Mahmud (Daily Amar Din), international and social welfare secretary.

Lecturer Mithun Miya, committees’ vice president, said the main purpose of the organisation is to build a strong bondage among the former and current students.

Professor Nister Jahan Kabir, president of the committee also the current chairperson of the department, was also present at the function.

The department started its journey in 2008-09 academic year three years after the establishment of the university in 2005. Four batches of the department have already completed their post-graduation.
