Pioneer dental students agitate for 10-point demand
The students of Pioneer dental college on Thursday staged agitation at its campus calling the death of Binishah Shah as ‘the Mystery’.
They were staged a sit-in programme in front of the main gate of the college from 11am to 12.50pm to press for their ten-point demand against the irregularities and corruption practices of the college authority.
Students were protesting holding the placards in written, who did call Binishah during her exam? Why was she out of exam room for 15 minutes? Why is the authority collecting fine from students setting up the trap of fail?
Her classmates claimed, Binisha committed suicide for excessive pressure from the teachers and the authority. They demanded a proper investigation into the matter.
A student of the college, named Salman said: “Pioneer Dental College authority stopped all types of exams including final exam, closed regular class and forced us to leave the hostel.
They closed all CC cameras. An institution can’t run in this manner. No reason has been explained to us.”
Another student, named Sohan said: “Inhuman pressure is being applied to us. They are imposing fines on us illegally through setting up intentional fail trap. My 5-year course didn’t end in 7 years. I am still in third year. If I passed in viva examination, then they make me fail a written examination, and if again I pass in written then they will make me fail in viva examination. And will impose fine of 40 to 70 thousand taka. Again, they will charge of fees for extra an year. If we talk on this, they threat to us.”
Binishah has committed suicide form such pressure, the student claimed.
A classmate of Nepalese student Binisha said, “They call us alone to speak with them, then they pressure on us. We’ll no longer tolerate. Now they have to answer. The suicide of Binishah is not usual, and she has been forced to commit suicide because of any such behavior to her from the authority. The proper investigation needed to be operated to find the causes.”
On Tuesday, Nepali citizen and a student of the dental college Binishah committed suicide by hanging herself at the college hostel in the city’s Bhatara area.
