Demo at RU, demand rescuing abducted-female student

Students of Rajshahi University demonstrated at the campus on Saturday in demand of rescuing a female student, who was allegedly abducted by her former husband from the campus on Friday.

The students issued seven-point demands including setting up CCTV camera at hall gates and university entrances, check post at female-student hall gates.

They held a press conference in this regard in front of the Central Library of the university on Saturday noon.

Earlier, the students organized a rally and paraded the entire campus followed by a human chain.

University Pro vice chancellor Prof. Ananda Kumar Saha told journalist, “The location of the abducted student has been identified and she will be rescued very soon.”

He urged the agitated students to be calm down and assured that the student will be rescued without any harm.
