DU senate names VC panel

The Dhaka University Senate today unanimously nominated a three-member vice-chancellor panel including incumbent Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique to appoint new vice-chancellor of the university.
The two other panel members are incumbent treasurer Professor Kamal Uddin and Professor of Theoretical and Computational Chemistry Department Md Abdul Aziz.
The decision was taken at a special session of the university senate at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on the campus with Vice-Chancellor and Senate Chairman Prof Siddique in the chair, said a release.
Prof Siddique called the special senate session in line with article 21(2) of the Dhaka University Order, 1973.
