Rokeya University to become unique in country: VC Kalimullah
Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Professor Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah today said the university would become a unique university in the country within next three months.
“We will soon import 10 robots from the USA to turn the university into a unique and modernised university,” he said.
The vice-chancellor made the remarks while addressing the “Ranger`s Orientation and workshop on Sustainable Development Goals`` held at gallery room at the Academic Building of the university as the chief guest.
The events were arranged on the occasion of launching Begum Rokeya University (BRU) Unit of Bangladesh Girls Guide Association (BGGA) comprising female students of the university.
Professor Dr Kalimullah said the campus of Begum Rokeya University would be connected to the Submarine Cables very soon and a bank branch will be established inside the campus to take the university further ahead.
With Lecturer of the Department of English Kasfia Yasmin Omba in the chair, Regional Trainer of BGGA Tania Amin and Sumaiya Tabassum and its Regional Treasurer Waleda Begum addressed the occasion as special guests.
Later, the vice-chancellor formally inaugurated Computer laboratory at the Department of Statistics of the university at another function presided over by Head of the Department of Statistics Siraj Ud Dowla.
Professor Dr Kalimullah also inaugurated the Library at Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall in another function held there with its Provost Associate Professor of the university Abu Saleh Mohammed Wadudur Rahman Tuhin in the chair.
Wife of the vice-chancellor and Executive Director of Jatiya Nirbachon Parjobekkhon Parishad (National Election Observation Council) Advocate Itrat Amin Kalimullah, addressed the functions, among others.
