DU observes holy Shab-e-Barat

Milad, doa mahfil and discussion were held at the Dhaka University Central Mosque here today in observance of holy Shab-e-Barat, known as the night of fortune.

DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique addressed the function as chief guest while Islamic Studies Department Professor Dr Md Abdur Rashid took part as chief discussant.

Addressing the function, DU VC termed Islam as a religion of peace and harmony and called upon all to follow the Islamic discipline in all spheres of life.

DU Pro-VC Professor Akhtaruzzaman and senior teachers of the university were present at the function, among others, a DU press release said.
