Nazrul’s ‘Bidrohi’ recited by thousands at DU

Bashori, a center for practising Nazrul, in association with Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) organised an event named “Lakho Konthe Bidrohi Kobita” at the central playground of Dhaka University (DU) on Monday.

DU teachers and students and participants from other educational institutions under BNCC recited, in chorus, the poem ‘Bidrohi’ (rebel) by Rebel Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, said a DU press release here today.

Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu and DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique attended the function as chief guest and special guest respectively.

Addressing the function, Hasanul Haque Inu urged the young generation to work for building a non-communal and progressive Bangladesh, taking inspirations from Kazi Nazrul’s rebellious poems.
