The session named “Connecting the dots” was the first phase of “NSU Capstone Innovation Challenge”. The Capstone Design Project generally involves multidisciplinary teams of students who build and test custom designed systems, components of engineering processes. “Connecting the dots” held to bring out the spirit of students to materialize their projects into real life products.

The session was inaugurated by Associate Professor of Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and faculty adviser of NSU ACM Student Chapter, Dr. Sazzad Hossain who played the key role to support and arrange the event. He started by explaining the objective of the session in a nutshell. Respected CEOs from different companies then took the stage and shared their experiences with the students.

Invited guests were CEO of SHEBA.XYZ, Mr. Adnan Imtiaz Halim; CEO of Cramstack, Mr. Mir Sakib (NSU alumni); and the CEO of SD Asia and a director of GP Accelerator, Mr. Mustafizur R Khan, who works as the active coordinator between startup founders and investor. From the academic side, speakers were Dr. M. Rokonuzzaman and Dr. Md. Shahedul Alam. The session was adorned by Dean of the school of engineering and physical sciences, Prof. Md. Sirajul Islam as Chair of the session.

Three groups of students presented a short presentation on their capstone project. The first group had a project named ‘Sensory Wheels’ which implemented the idea of a hand-glove controlled wheelchair using Arduino and XBee and the contributing members were Tanjina, Farjana and Sadia.
