National University top official arrested
Anti-Corruption Commission arrested a top official of National University (NU) in connection with a corruption case filed for embezzling Tk 1.40 crore early Monday.
The arrestee is Md. Badruzzaman, acting controller of examinations of NU, said Public Relations Department of the university.
Earlier, ACC arrested three officials of the university on this charge on February 13.
According to the source, despite bar of the ministry, a few years back, the university gave selection grade to mass recruited employees. In 2012, a man filed a case in this regard.
In the complaint, it was mentioned that the three officials disregarded the ministry bar and either embezzled Tk 1,04,63,394 or caused loss of the government.
Assistant Director of the ACC Fazlul Bari is investigating the case.
