DU Chhatra League leader shot in Dhaka

A group of miscreants shot a leader of Dhaka University Chhatra League unit in front of Banbeis office at Sonargaon Road in Dhaka on Sunday.

The leader, sustained bullet injuries, was identified as Jubayer Ahmed, vice president of Dhaka University (DU) unit of BCL.

Police said a private car waylaid Jubayer and his two friends in front of Banbeis office while they were returning to DU campus from Palashi intersection riding a bike around 1.00 am.

Later, the miscreants shot Jubayer at the thigh, leaving him seriously injured.

He was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), police added.
