Schoolboy stabbed to death at Mirpur

A 14-year-old schoolboy identified was stabbed to death by unidentified assailants in the capital’s Mirpur area on Sunday night.

The victim was identified as Mohammad Iman Sarker, a student of Class VII of Mirpur Adarsha High School, son of Nazrul Sarker and a resident of Section 6 at Mirpur.

Quoting witnesses, Nazrul said that Iman had gone out from home at around 8:30pm.

“When he went out, two other youths stabbed him in the chest with sharp knives and fled. We rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead at around 10:00pm,” he added.

The police arrested one Sujan in this connection. The police said a blood-stained knife and a shirt were also recovered from his possession.
