Gold prices rise, bhori Tk 1.54 lakh

The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association, BAJUS, has increased the prices of gold, with raising 22 carat gold by Tk 1,470 to Tk 1,54,945 per bhori (11.664 grams).
This is the highest rise in gold prices in the country’s history till Tuesday, March 18.
Besides, 21-carat gold was raised by Tk 1,400 to Tk 1,47,900 a bhori, 18-carat by Tk 1,201 to Tk 1,26,776, and gold of traditional method by Tk 1,027 to Tk 1,04,498 respectively.
The prices have been hiked following a rise in the price of pure gold in the local market, BAJUS said in a statement today.
The new prices will come into effect from Wednesday, March 19.
Earlier on March 16, the price of 22-carat gold rose by Tk 2,613 to Tk 1,53,475 per bhori, while 21-carat gold increased by Tk 2,496 to Tk 1,46,500 per bhori.
Similarly, 18-carat gold went up by Tk 2,147 to Tk 1,25,575 per bhori, and traditional gold surged by Tk 1,831 to Tk 1,03,471 per bhori.
