Gold price hits all-time high of Tk 1.44 lakh a bhori

The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association, BAJUS, has raised the price of 22 carat gold by Tk 2,099 to Tk 1,44,890 per bhori, the highest rise in the country's history till Saturday, February 1.
The price has been increased following a rise in the price of pure gold in the local market, BAJUS said in a statement today.
Besides, 21-carat gold was hiked by Tk 1,994 to 1,38,300 a bhori (11.664 grams), 18-carat by Tk 1,714 to Tk 1,18,541, and gold of traditional method by Tk 1,458 to Tk 97,476 respectively.
The new prices will come into effect from Sunday, February 2.
Earlier on January 30, BAJUS raised the price of 22 carat gold by Tk 1,365 to Tk 1,42,791 per bhori.
