Musk likely to attend Int’l Investment Summit in Dhaka
Bangladesh is gearing up to host a high-profile international investment summit in Dhaka this April, with global business magnates, including Elon Musk, expected to participate.
Sources within the government revealed that invitations have been extended to prominent figures in global business, and there is significant optimism about Musk’s attendance. “Recently, Musk’s senior security advisor visited Dhaka, signaling positive prospects for his participation,” an official said.
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, recently became the first individual to reach a fortune of $400 billion, according to Bloomberg, further solidifying his position as the world’s richest person. His anticipated presence at the summit is generating considerable excitement.
The summit, tentatively scheduled for mid-April, will span three days and feature a curated list of influential global investors.
The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) is leading the initiative, with full support from the government and administrative bodies.
Other renowned business leaders, such as Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison, are also likely to be invited, underscoring the event’s global appeal.
Bangladesh aims to leverage this event to attract substantial foreign investment. Organisers are considering leveraging the global reputation of Dr Muhammad Yunus to enhance the summit's visibility.
Officials see this as a transformative opportunity for the nation. “This summit has the potential to be a game-changer,” one official remarked, noting that past investment events have not fully realized their goals.
Musk’s growing influence extends beyond his business ventures. With the recent appointment of his associate, Indian-origin Sriram Krishnan, to a key position in the White House AI policy committee, Musk’s role in shaping global technology and business policies continues to expand.
