Taskeen elected DCCI president for 2025
Taskeen Ahmed, Vice Chairman of IFAD Group, has been elected President of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) for the 2025 term.
The announcement came during the 63rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on December 15, 2024, at the DCCI Auditorium in Motijheel, Dhaka.
Alongside Taskeen Ahmed, Razeev H. Chowdhury was elected Senior Vice President, and Md. Salem Sulaiman was elected Vice President for the same term.
The AGM also introduced newly elected Directors for the 2025–2027 term: Enamul Haque Patwary, Md. Mostafa Kamal, Minhaj Ahmed, Muhammad Zamsher Ali, Rasheed Mymunul Islam, and Salman Bin Rashid Shah Sayeem.
As the newly elected President, Taskeen Ahmed brings extensive experience as Vice Chairman of IFAD Group, one of Bangladesh's largest conglomerates with diversified operations in automotive, food processing, and consumer goods. Having joined the family business in 1999, he has spent 25 years leading various business units within the group.
Taskeen has also significantly contributed to Bangladesh's business community through leadership roles, including serving as: President of the India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IBCCI)
Senior Vice President of Bangladesh Automobile Assemblers and Manufacturers Association (BAAMA), and Director of DCCI.
The newly elected Senior Vice President, Razeev H. Chowdhury, is the Managing Director of multiple ventures, including Defense Dynamics Enterprise Limited, Arco Cold Storage Limited, Watches World Limited, and others.
Razeev has a long-standing association with DCCI, having served as a Director (2023–2024). He was the founding President of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Bangladesh-Dhaka South in 2005. His academic credentials include a BBA and MBA from Huron University, USA, in London.
Vice President Md Salem Sulaiman is the Managing Director of Massons Polymer Corporation, Lalbagh Metal Industries Limited, and Champion & Massons Limited, alongside being the proprietor of SSamsons Corporation. He previously served as a DCCI Director (2024 & 2006–2008) and is currently Vice President of the Bangladesh-Thai Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BTCCI). His academic background includes an MBA, underscoring his expertise in global trade and management.
