Export revenue climbs 15.63% in November
Bangladesh's export revenue surged by 15.63 per cent in November 2024, reaching $4.11 billion, compared to $3.56 billion in the same period last year.
For the fiscal year’s first five months (July–November), export revenue totaled $19.90 billion, an 11.76 per cent increase from $17.81 billion during the same period in the previous year, according to data released by the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) on Wednesday (December 4).
The ready-made garment sector remained the top performer, with November’s earnings rising by 16.25 per cent to $3.30 billion, up from $2.84 billion in November 2023.
Over the July–November period, the sector’s earnings grew by 12.34 per cent to $16.1 billion, compared to $14.34 billion in the previous fiscal year.
Export earnings in leather and leather products sector rose by 7.61 per cent, totaling $466 million, up from $433 million last year.
Revenue from agriculture and agro-processed products exports increased by 8.34 per cent to $495 million year-on-year.
