Q4 GDP growth slows to 3.91%: BBS
Bangladesh's GDP growth for the fourth and final quarter of the 2023-24 fiscal year stood at 3.91%, according to a report released by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) on Monday, October 28.
The report details a gradual slowdown in quarterly growth: GDP growth was recorded at 6.04% in Q1, 4.78% in Q2, and 5.42% in Q3, before settling at 3.91% in Q4. The BBS plans to release final GDP calculations for the full fiscal year in December or January.
Sector-wise, the agriculture sector grew by 5.27% in Q4 on a year-over-year basis at constant prices. The industrial sector posted 3.98% growth, while the services sector recorded a 3.67% increase at constant prices during the same period.
