Gold price hits record high of Tk 1.26 lakh per bhori

The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association has raised the price of gold by Tk 1,504 to Tk 1,26,006 per bhori following an increase in the price of pure gold in the local market.

It is the highest price of gold till Thursday (August 22). Earlier on Tuesday (August 20), the gold price hit a record of Tk 1,24,502 per bhori.

According to the fresh prices, gold of 22-carat was hiked by Tk 1,504 to Tk 1,26,006 per bhori (11.664 grams), 21-carat by Tk 1,446 to Tk 1,20,279, 18-carat by Tk 1,236 to Tk 1,03,098, and gold of traditional method by Tk 1,027 to Tk 85,241 respectively.

BAJUS's standing committee on pricing and price monitoring decided this in a meeting today, a press release said.

The new prices will come into effect from Friday (August 23).
