Gold price hits record high of Tk 1.24 lakh per bhori

The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association has raised the price of gold by Tk 1,517 to Tk 1,24,502 per bhori following an increase in the price of pure gold in the local market.

It is the highest price of gold till Tuesday (August 20). Earlier on Monday (August 19), the gold price hit a record of Tk 1,22,985 per bhori.

According to the fresh prices, gold of 22-carat was hiked by Tk 1,517 to Tk 1,24,502 per bhori (11.664 grams), 21-carat by Tk 1,435 to Tk 1,18,833, 18-carat by Tk 1,237 to Tk 1,01,862, and gold of traditional method by Tk 1,015 to Tk 84,214 respectively.

BAJUS's standing committee on pricing and price monitoring decided this in a meeting today, a press release said.

The new prices will come into effect from Wednesday (August 21).
