Ahsan H Mansur made BB Governor
Former official of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Dr Ahsan H Mansur has been appointed as the new Governor of Bangladesh Bank.
The Financial Institutions Division of the Finance Ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard on Tuesday night.
He will succeed Abdur Rouf Talukder.
“According to Bangladesh Bank Order 1972, Executive Director of Policy Research Institute of Bangladesh (PRI) Ahsan H Mansur has been appointed as the Governor of Bangladesh Bank for the next 4 years from the date of his joining on the condition that he would sever his working relationships with all other institutions and organisations,” the notification said.
Following the fall of the Awami League government, Bangladesh Bank Governor Abdur Rauf Talukder resigned from his post on August 9.
