Chinese company to invest $1.26m in Uttara EPZ

Chinese company Baida Industrial Company Limited is going to invest US $1.26 million to set up a Printed Materials and Packaging Products manufacturing industry in Uttara Export Processing Zone (UEPZ) in Nilphamari.

In presence of the Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, BSP, ndc, psc, Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) signed an agreement with the company on Tuesday (July 30) at BEPZA Complex, Dhaka, a press release said.

Md Ashraful Kabir, member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA, and Zhang Hu, managing director of Baida Industrial Company Ltd, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.

The foreign owned company will produce 8000 metric ton various types of cartoon box, paper bags, box file/storage box, different types of books & magazines, sticker/label/hang tag/barcode sticker, calendar, diary & different types of printed cards yearly. 1150 Bangladeshi nationals will get employment opportunity in the company.

Among others, Member (Engineering) Mohammad Faruque Alam, Member (Finance) ANM Foyzul Haque, Executive Director (Admin) ASM Zamshed Khondaker, Executive Director (Investment Promotion) Md Tanvir Hossain, and Executive Director (Public Relations) ASM Anwar Parvez along with representatives of the enterprise were present during the signing ceremony.
