Expatriates send $198.98cr remittance in December

The expatriate Bangladeshis sent remittances of around $198.98 crore (equivalent to about Tk 21,838 crore) in December, the sixth month of the current fiscal year 2023-24.

The amount is about $5.98 crore more than that of November when the country saw $193 crore in remittance, Bangladesh Bank said in its updated report on Tuesday.

In the first six months of the current FY, around $1079.86 crore remittance came to the country which is $30.52 crore more compared to the same period of the last FY 2022-23 when the expatriates sent about $1049.34.
