DSE starts New Year in flat note

Country's both the bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) on Monday ended in flat note on the first trading day of the new calendar year due to price fall mainly in some large-cap securities, reports BSS. 

The broad index, DSEX closed at 6,242.87 points with a marginal fall of 3.62 points or 0.05 percent. The two selective indices, Blue Chip index, DSE30 declined by 2.28 points and the Shariah index, DSES declined by 2.90 points to settle at 2,091.54 points and 1,361.24 points respectively. 

Out of 334 issues traded, 80 securities gained price while 86 declined and 168 remained unchanged. 

The top five gainers were IFILISLMF1, CRYSTALINS, BDTHAI, EASTERNINS and ICB3RDNRB.

BDTHAI topped the turnover chart followed by KPPL, SEAPEAL, OAL and INTRACO.

The top five losers were IMAMBUTTON, Aftab Auto, OAL, PDL and KPPL.

On the other hand, the port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed in red maintaining the losing streak of previous session. 

CSCX and CASPI decreased by 9.01 points and 15 points to stand at 11,067.39 points and 18,505.14 points respectively.
