Gold price reaches record Tk 1.07 lakh per bhori
The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association has decided to raise the price of gold by Tk 2,334 to Tk 1,00,778 per bhori following an increase in the price of pure gold in the local market.
It is the highest price of gold as of Thursday (July 20). Earlier on March 18, the price of gold hit the second highest record of Tk 98,794 per bhori.
Now, gold of 22-carat will cost Tk 1,00,778 per bhori (11.664 grams), 21-carat Tk 96,228, 18-carat Tk 82,464, and gold of traditional method Tk 68,701 respectively.
BAJUS's standing committee on pricing and price monitoring took the decision in a meeting on Thursday, a press release said.
The new prices will come into effect from Friday (July 21).
