Raising tax-free income limit for men, women proposed

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has proposed to increase the tax-free income limit for men to Tk 3.50 lakh from Tk 3 lakh and for women to Tk 4 lakh from Tk 3.50.
He made the proposal while placing the proposed national budget of Tk 7,61,785 crore in Jatiya Sangsad on Thursday afternoon.
Kamal said the actual income of the taxpayers decreased due to inflation and taking it into account, the tax-free income limit for individual taxpayers was increased a little.
