Birth registration fee can be paid thru' mobile banking

An initiative has been taken to pay government-fixed fees for birth registration through mobile banking which will be launched soon.

As a result, service recipients can pay the fees through any of Mobile Financial Services (MFS) such as bKash, Nagad, Rocket, etc. and they also can pay through online banking. 

The decision has recently been taken in a meeting on simplification of the birth registration process, said the minutes of the meeting which was presided over by Local Government Division Secretary Muhammad Ibrahim.

It was learned that the Governance Innovation Unit (GIU) of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), in the meeting, made 16 recommendations to stop harassment of the service recipients.

These recommendations will be implemented, said the Office of the Registrar General, Birth & Death Registration.
