Bottled soybean oil price raised by Tk7 per litre
The price of bottled soybean oil has been increased and a litre of soybean oil will now cost Tk192 in retail markets.
The price has gone up by Tk7 per litre.
Taslim Shahriar, Senior Assistant General Manager of the Meghna Group, confirmed the matter to Jago News on Tuesday.
He said, the price of bottled soyabin oil has been raised after getting approval from the government.
The decision of hiking price will be effective from today, said the Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners & Vanaspati Manufacturers Association (BVOVMA).
According to the new price, price of per litre of loose soybean oil has been set as Tk175, while the price of per litre of bottled soybean oil has been set as Tk192.
For 5-litre bottles, the price has been set as Tk945.
At the same time, the price of palm oil (open) has been set as Tk145 per litre.
On 3 August, the BVOVMA proposed the Bangladesh Trade and Tariff Commission to increase the price of soybean oil by Tk20 per litre.
