Gold prices surge by 1225 per bhori

The Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association has decided to raise the prices of gold by around Tk 1,225 per bhori following an increase in prices of pure gold in the local market.

The new prices will come into effect from Monday (August 22).

BAJUS's standing committee on pricing and price monitoring took the decision in a meeting on Sunday night, a press release said.

Now, gold of 22-carat will cost Tk 83,281 per bhori (11.664 grams), 21-carat Tk 79,490, 18-carat Tk 68,118, and gold of traditional method Tk 56,220 respectively.  

Earlier on August 18, the jeweller’s association decreased the gold prices by Tk 2,275 per bhori to Tk 82,056.
