Price of Urea fertilizer increased

The government has increased the price of Urea fertilizer to Tk 22 per kilogram from Tk 16 for farmers.
At the dealer level the price has been fixed at Tk 20 per kg, which was Tk 14 before.
The price will be effective from Monday.
The Ministry of Agriculture confirmed the information in a press release.
Earlier on July 26, Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzaque said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina does not want to increase fertilizer price in the country for the sake of the country farmers despite global price hike.
