12000cr remittance come home in Feb
The expatriate Bangladeshis sent remittance of around $149.60 crore, which is about at Tk 12,865 crore, in the second month of February of the current fiscal year 2021-22.
The amount is Tk 2,307 crore less than that of the same period of the FY 2020-21 when the country received 15,172 crore remittance, according to the sources at Bangladesh Bank.
The first month of January of this FY, however, witnessed around Tk 170crore remittance.
The people concerned said the expatriates stranded home due to the coronavirus restrictions are returning to their workplaces abroad. The remittance inflow will rise if they start working in full swing.
