PRAN-RFL’s four companies get ‘Green Factory Award’

Four companies of PRAN-RFL Group received ‘Green Factory Award-2020’ that is conferred for the first time. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina participated in the award giving program as the chief guest virtually and State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian handed over the award on behalf of the Prime Minister held at the capital on Wednesday.

Md. Ehsan-E-Elahi, Secretary at The Labour and Employment ministry was also present at the program.

PRAN

The Labour and Employment ministry introduced the award for increasing more investment in industries through using environmentally-friendly technologies and employing a skilled workforce in a safe and decent working environment. The Green Factory award has been given in six categories and it will be given every year from now.

Habiganj Agro Limited, a sister concern of PRAN, received the award under food processing category while Banga Building Materials Limited, Allplast Bangladesh Limited and Durable Plastics Limited, the sister concern of RFL group, got the award under Plastic sector.

At the program, Uzma Chowdhury, Director (Corporate Finance) at PRAN-RFL Group received the award on behalf of Habiganj Agro. RN Paul, Managing Director at RFL Group received the award on behalf of Durable Plastics while Dilip Kumar Sutradhar, Executive Director at Banga Building Materials and Sayed Hossain Chowdhury, Chief Operating Officer at Allplast Bangladesh took the award on behalf of their organizations.

Kamruzzaman Kamal, Director (Marketing) at PRAN-RFL group said, “From the very beginning of the construction of the factory, we have given utmost importance to the environment in the design of the buildings, infrastructure and other installations and follow the eco-friendly process in every steps from production to marketing. We thank the government to inspire us through giving such kind of award.”
