Finance Minister unveils Tk 6.3 lakh cr budget

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal presented a proposed budget of Tk 603,681 crore for the fiscal year 2021-22 in Jatiya Sangsad (JS) on Thursday amid the coronavirus pandemic aiming to recover the economy saving the lives and livelihoods of people.

He unveiled the budget, the country's largest one, around 3pm.

The proposed budget is 17.05 percent of total GDP, and 12 percent bigger than the amended budget for outgoing 2020-21.

It is, however, the country's 50th, Awami League-led government's 22nd, and Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal's third budget.
