Jashim Uddin elected FBCCI president

Bengal Group Vice Chairman Md Jashim Uddin has been elected uncontested as the president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industries (FBCCI) for 2021-23 term.

Professor Ali Ashraf, the chairman of the board of directors of FBCCI, made the disclosure while announcing the election results at its office in the capital's Motijheel area on Sunday.

Jashim Uddin, the 23rd president of the country's apex trade body, also chairman of newly launched Bengal Commercial Bank, and Desh General Insurance Company Ltd.

He was honoured with Commercially Important Person (CIP) status given by the government several times for his contribution to the country's economy.

The former chief of Bangladesh Plastic Goods Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BPGMEA) also won National Export Trophy.
