Deadline for submitting tax return extended to Dec 31

The deadline for submitting income tax return by the individual tax payers has been extended for a month considering the situation arisen due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The National Board of Revenue issued a gazette notification in this regard on Monday.

While announcing this, NBR Chairman Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Munim said those taxpayers who did not submit income tax returns still now can submit so till December 31,  

"We've taken this decision discussing with the higher authority and applying NBR power," he said.

According to the Income Tax Ordinance, today (November 30) was the last date of submitting tax return.
