Gold prices decline Tk 3,500 per bhori

Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BAJUS) has reduced the price of per bhori gold by Tk 3,500 citing a price fall in international market.

Now per 22-carat gold will cost Tk 73,716, and the new price will come into effect from Thursday, a BAJUS press release said on Wednesday.

According to the latest price, 21-carat gold will cost Tk 70,567 per bhori, 18-carat gold Tk 61,819 and traditional gold Tk 51,497.

"Prices of gold have been decreased in Bangladesh due to price reduction in global market," BAJUS general secretary Dilip Kumar Agarwala told Jago News.

Amid the coronavirus outbreak, the jewellers' association hiked the gold prices four times- on August, 5, July 23, June 23, and May 28.
