Compact demands compensation to FOBANA
Compact Communication Limited, an event management and advertisement institution, has demanded compensation to the Federation of Bangladeshi Associations in North America (FOBANA) for its financial loss by the foreign organization.
Compact Communication Limited made the demand at a press conference at Dhaka Reporters Unity in the city on Monday.
In his speech, Satya Ranjan Das, chairman of Compact Communication Limited, alleged that officials of FOBANA in a letter on April 22, 2014 appointed his institution as an agent in Bangladesh after an agreement.
The letter, signed by Convenor of FOBANA Zainul Abedin, Secretary Belal M Syed and Senior Executive Co-convenor Mohammad Iqbal, asked our institution to do marketing, promotion, stall booking and management of cultural programme for FOBANA-2014, said the chief of Compact.
“As per their instruction, we started our work and when the whole preparation was completed, the FOBANA authorities suddenly stopped contact with the company without assigning any reason”, he said.
After several attempts, the Compact Communication did not get any response from the FOBANA authorities, he said.
He also sought assistance of the government, the US Embassy in Bangladesh and the press in this regard. Manager (event) Takdir Abir and Marketing Manager Shahria Afroze also spoke at the press briefing.
