Decision in principle to reopen DSE
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) board of directors has taken decision in principle to reopen the trading activities from May 10.
Even if the ongoing general holidays are extended, DSE will operate on May 10 subject to consent of the share market regulating organization BSEC.
The decision was taken at DSE's meeting held online on Thursday, the country's prime bourse's director Minhaz Mannan Imon told Jago News.
The brokerage firms, and small investors have badly been affected by the stock market closure, and non-confidance grew among foreign investors that led the decision, he said.
The stock markets in Bangladesh remain closed from March 26 due to coronavirus outbreak. From the day, the government announced general holidays which will end on May 5.
