BSTI bans products of 17 brands

The Bangladesh Standards & Testing Institution (BSTI) has banned the substandard products of 17 brands.

The brands concerned have also been served showcause notice, a press release said on Saturday. 

The manufacturers, suppliers, wholesalers and retailers have been asked to refrain from sale-distribution and commercial advertisement of the products without further approval from the authorities concerned.

And manufacturers have been directed to recall the sold sunstandard products from market. 

The brand companies are: Kalpana Commodities Company, Chattogram, Chittagong Flower Mills, Chattogram, Al Amin Bakery and Confectionary, Jashore, Mr. Baker and Pastry Shop, Dhaka, Safe Food Industry Saba, Faridpur, Riad Salt Industry Ltd, Cox's Bazar, Rajshahi Mistanno Bhandar, Genius Safe Food and Consumer, Bogura, Sima Flowers Mills Ltd, Bogura, GM Food Products, Gazipur, Shah International Food Products, Gazipur, Mother Dairy and Food Products, Shariatpur, Shahi Food Products, Moulvibazar, and a company without name.
