NBR to receive individual tax returns till Dec 2
The individual taxpayers could submit their income tax returns till December 2 as the last date of submission, November 30, is a weekly holiday.
“The last date for submitting income tax returns was fixed on November 30. But the date has now been extended till December 2 as November 30 is Friday, a weekly holiday,” National Board of Revenue (NBR) Member (income tax admin) Zia Uddin Mahood told BSS.
He said the NBR will not observe the income tax week this year which was observed in last two years in the last week of November.
However, the tax officials in the capital and across the country have been instructed to give all services from the tax offices like in the fairs, he added.
The NBR has realized about taka 2,488.94 crore from the weeklong tax fair held across the country from November 13 to 19 this year.
About 4,87,573 people submitted income tax returns and 39,743 people registered e-taxpayer identification numbers (e-TIN) in the fair.
