PRAN Chinigura Rice 'Nabanna Utsab' kicks off Thursday

A three-day “PRAN Chinigura Rice Nabanna Utsab” will kick off at Rabindra Sarobar in the capital Dhaka on Thursday.

“We are losing many traditional festivals from our culture in the course of time. PRAN Chinigura Rice is sponsoring the Nabanna Utsab in a bid to seeping the traditional celebrations into the urban sphere,” said Chief Operating Officer at Banga Millers Limited Mohammad Shahan Shah Azad said at press conference on Tuesday.

A total of 30 stalls will display various types of traditional cakes at the festival. The programme will also include traditional music, dance, puppet show, merry-go-round, reciting punthi, bioscope, palki, lathi khela and monkey-dance show.

Popular singers including Indra Mohan Rajbobgshi, Chisty Baul, Fakir Sahabuddin, Abu Bakar Siddique, Lily Islam, Anima Roy and Ferdousi Kakoli will perform at the Nabanna Utsab.

The festival will remain open for all from 8 am to 8 pm every day.

Category Manager of Banga Millers Ltd Mustafizur Rahman, Category Manager of PRAN Dairy Ltd Maksud Rahman, Head of Operations of Xpedev Adil Khan and Coordinator of Scholars Bangladesh Foundation Monjurul Islam were present at the press conference.
