PRAN Krako sponsors ‘EWU Winter Smash’

Inter-private university badminton tournament will be kicked off on February 26 at East West University Aftabnagar campus in Dhaka.

24-private University will participate in the 5-daylong badminton championship, said the organizer East West University.

East West University on Wednesday organized a press conference at the university where it said PRAN Krako supported the sports.

The final match of the tournament naming ‘East West University Winter Smash 2016’ will be held on March 1.

Addressing the media, Ali Hasan Alam, head of marketing at PRAN Foods said ‘In Bangladesh, badminton is out of focus. To popularize badminton, we have taken the initiatives.’

‘In future, we will organize some big events in badminton with the help of Bangladesh Badminton Federation,’ he said adding PRAN Krako’s aim is to connect with the youth and boost their talents.

Tanjirul Islam Ovi, president at East West University Sporting Club, ASM Ashif, moderator at EWUSC and Razibul Islam Lanin, brand manager at PRAN Foods Limited were present at the press meet.

Besides, an inaugural function of the contest will be held on February 25 at East West University where Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, Prof Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, chairperson, board of trustees and Professor MM Shahidul Hassan, Vice Chancellor at East West University are expected to be present.

Popular singer Tahsan will also perform at the inaugural ceremony on Thursday afternoon.
