Kishoreganj EZ gets pre-qualification licence
Bangladesh Economic Zone Authority (BEZA) on Monday issued a pre-qualification licence to the Kishoreganj Economic Zone (KEZ), at a city hotel in Dhaka.
Kishoeganj Economic Zone is a venture of Nitol-Niloy Group, the Leading Business Organization of Bangladesh, which is set-up on 91.63 acres of land at Pakundia Upazila near Bhairab-Kishoreganj Highway, said a press release.
BEZA is optimistic that Kishoreganj Economic Zone will keep a real part in socio-economic development, industrialization, creating employment increasing investment in and abroad, and in the growth of GDP, it also said.
Abul Kalam Azad, Chief Coordinator (SDG) Prime Minister’s Office, in his speech thanks the authority of Kishoreganj Economic Zone for having the licensee and hope that Kishoreganj Economic Zone will play an extraordinary role in economic development of industrially neglected Haor area.
Paban Chowdhury said Kishoreganj will now come into the main stream of development due to establishment of Kishoreganj Economic Zone.
As Kishoreganj is situated at the gate of Haor area near Bhairab it will attract the investors and huge employment will be created in the area, he also said.
Abul Kalam Azad, Chief Coordinator (SDG) Prime Minister’s Office was present as the Chief Guest and Abdul Matlub Ahmad, Chairman Nitol-Niloy Group was present as special guest.
Paban Chowdhury, Executive Chairman of BEZA (Secretary) presided over the license giving ceremony.
