Stocks rebound to cease continuous fall
Stock market rebounded on Tuesday, with the major indices at Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges ending in green.
DSEX at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) finished 1.81 points up at 4665.44, with the blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES ending up at 1757.08 and 1121.64 respectively.
The daily trade value rose by nearly 9.0 percent to Taka 573.28 crore and the volume by over 3.0 percent to 16.78 crore shares.
Out of the 320 issues traded, 151 gained, 118 incurred loss and 52 remained unchanged.
The major gainers were Dacca Dye, ITC, BD Thai, Alltex and Fareast Finance when the major losers were Meghna Petroleum, ICB Sonali 1, GQ Ball Pen, Apex Spanning and ISN Limited.
UPGDCL topped the turnover list followed by BD Thai, Beximco Pharma, FAR Chemical, BBS and Emerald Oil.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also gained on Tuesday, with its major CSCX index ending 19.65 points up at 8683.08.
Out of the 238 issues traded, 125 gained when 89 suffered losses and 24 remained static. The trade value rose to Taka 38.19 crore and the trade volume to 1.36 crore shares.
