Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu said Bangladesh and India is working with sincerity to narrow the existing trade deficit.

“Bangladesh is setting up special economic zones and Indian businessmen can avail this opportunity which would also help cut existing bilateral trade deficit,” he added.

The minister was addressing the opening ceremony for marketing of Kirloskar Generator in Bangladesh in a city hotel on Saturday night.

Referring to the marketing of the generator, Amu said, new scopes for trade and investment between both the countries are being explored in now a days.

Terming Bangladesh as one of the most attractive place of investment for foreigners, he said there is a scope to export the products produced with foreign investment in Bangladesh to India.

The industries minister urged the entrepreneurs and businessmen of India and Bangladesh to contribute more in strengthening bilateral economic relations.

Now, Bangladesh has trade deficit of US$ 5.579 billion with India.
