Tofail urges India to invest in SEZ
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed today urged the Indian businessmen to invest in the Special Economic Zones (SEZ) as the government would provide all necessary support to run business smoothly and make profit.
"The government has adopted plan to establish one hundred economic zones across the country. Of the total economic zones, three will be set up for Indian investors," he said.
The minister told the journalists after exchanging views with a 20-member business delegation of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) in India led by Managing Partner of the Del Star Overseas Dibya Sankar Das at the secretariat in the city.
Tofail said the government is ensuring all sorts of facilities, including transferring the total amount of capital, to the investors in the country to make the country investment hub in the globe.
Responding to a question, he said, the next national election would also be held under the present government. "The present government will play role as a supporting government during the election period. The government will support the election commission to hold a free and fair election," he added.
Among others, Chief Executive Officer of Wizertech Informatics Pvt. Ltd Chiranjib Bhattacharya and Vice President of the Marine Container Service (India) Private Limited Arup Bandhu Guha were present on the occasion.
