DSE, CSE open higher

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened positive on Tuesday with marginal volatility in its third session of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 20.65 points or 0.45 per cent to reach at 4,556.70, after first 30 minutes of the trade when the report was filed at 11am.

The two other induces also saw positive trend. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 7.38 points or 0.42 per cent to reach at 1,729.87. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) rose 4.52 points or 0.41 per cent to stand at 1,096.78.

DSE turnover stands at only Tk 372 million when the report was filed at 11am.

Of the issues traded till then, 144 advanced, 29 declined and 38 issues remained unchanged.

Quasem Drycells was the most traded stocks till then with shares Tk 43 million changing hands followed by IFAD Autos, National Feed Mill, Square Pharma and Shahjibazar Power Compnay.

The port city bourse – CSE – also saw upward trend in early hour with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – gaining 16.82 points to stand at 8,456.83, also at 11am.

Of the issues traded till then, 55 gained, 21 declined and 17 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 28 million. -FE
