Turnover up, indices down on DSE
All the market barometers declined on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) Wednesday, the week’s last working day though turnover marked a rise on the day.
At the end of the day’s session, the DSE benchmark index DSEX declined 0.21 per cent or 9.97 points to close at 4647 points. DSE Shariah index DSES also shed 0.20 per cent or 2.27 points to close at 1113 points, whereas the blue chip index DS30 went down by 0.24 per cent or 4.30 points to close at 1762 points. Among 315 issues traded, 149 advanced, 119 declined and 47 remained unchanged.
At the end of the session, the turnover value rose to Tk 3.56 billion on the premier bourse. Lafarge Surma Cement Wednesday topped the chart as the most traded stocks with a value of Tk 226 million followed by BEXIMCO Pharma, KDS Accessories, Shahjibazar Power Company and Aman Feed. Orion Infusion was the day’s number one gainer with a rise of 9.87 per cent to close at Tk 51.2. On the other hand, 3rd ICB Mutual Fund was the worst loser with a fall of 7.57 per cent to close at 221.
