The Ministry of Public Administration on Wednesday issued a gazette endorsing Mymensingh as a new division, raising the total number of administrative divisions of the country to eight.The new division will be formed with Mymensingh, Jamalpur, Sherpur and Netrakona districts keeping Tangail and Kishoreganj districts outside of it, said additional secretary to the Public Administration Ministry Mahibul Haque.Earlier on September 14, the National Implementation Committee for Administrative Reforms (Nicar) endorsed Mymensingh as a new division.The Cabinet on January 26 took the decision in principle over the new division which encompasses a total of 10,585 square kilometres with a population of 113,69,606.
