A severe gridlock has been created on Dhaka-Chittagong highway since morning.A 13-kilometre-long tailback was created from Comilla’s Meghna Bridge to Meghna-Gomoti Bridge at Daudkandi area.However, there is no traffic jam at 44-km in Chauddagram upazila and at 42-km road from Alekharchar Bishawroad to Daudkandi’s Gouripur of the highway.Daudkandi Highway police sources said the vehicles which ply on four lanes have to make two lanes while they cross Meghna-Gomoti bridges that created the queue.The gridlock at Daudkandi part of the highway has almost become unmanageable.
