Two students of the Dhaka University drowned in Padma River at Dohar area in Dhaka during a trip with classmates.
Acting Proctor M Amjad Ali said that the bodies of first-year students of economics department Abrar Nirjhar and Ahmed Hasan were recovered on Tuesday afternoon.
Prof Amzad said a group of 14 students of the department went to Mainatghat around 3 pm to pass their leisure time on the riverbank, according to a news agency.Abrar and Hasan were washed away by strong current when they along with other students were taking bath in the river.On information, a firefighting team rushed in and recovered the bodies from the river around 5:30 pm.
